In the winter between 2025 and 2026 I learned the oboe and composed these two solos! Old Texas Song is in 4/4 , D major, and is based of the folk song “Im Going to Leave Old Texas Now”. It is a great first solo for 6th graders. Harbor Song is in 6/8, Eb, and is an original melody in a folk style.
